Born in Farnborough, Hants. Went to Queens Road Primary School. Passed the 11 plus and went to Farnborough Grammar School for boys. He won the Ferneburgia Prize for Public Sprit for his behind the scenes work equipping the school stage for many productions. Graham was not a natural ‘studier’ but his A levels got him to Salford University. The exams didn’t go well and he returned to Farnborough to take up a role at the Royal Aircraft Establishment. Two years later he joined Geoff at Brighton Polytechnic but academic work lost out to other interests. He took a job as a fitter at the large Endeavour Ford garage. Subsequently he joined Rediffon in Crawley. He had a number of other jobs in the defence industry. After many years he took a number of personal contract roles again in defence companies.

Graham was a keen photographer and President of the Watford Camera Club more than once. His double garage was widely known for its impenetrability due to the extensive tool collection and detritus from numerous projects.
